There are few so dedicated and loyal to protecting our freedoms than those of US Navy SeALs. Today, I honor a REAL SeAL, whom so of you may recognize, or at least some of you may recognize his picture above. Who is this man? Today, his brother in arms and immediate Commander was given the only medal higher than the one he earned himself on that same day. Below are the accounts of his deeds from the annals of two USN SeAL dedicated pages:

| Contributions: | Dietz was part of a dedicated team fighting the Taliban, a fundamentalist regime that a U.S.-led coalition knocked from power in Afghanistan in 2001, but has continued to conduct guerilla operations, particularly along the Pakistan border. Dietz worked to help ensure Al Qaeda terrorists could not train in, nor launch strikes from Afghanistan since their lethal attack on the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001. Danny Dietz deployed to Afghanistan in April 2005 as part of a four-man SEAL reconnaissance team to support Naval Special WarfareâÂÂs prosecution of the Global War on Terror. The team secretly infiltrated into the Hindu-Kush mountains Along the border with Afghanistan in late June. Led by LT Michael P. Murphy, the unit was reportedly tracking a high- ranking terrorist leader near 10,000 foot peaks when it was ambushed by overwhelming Taliban forces. Two helicopters of Navy SEALs and Army commandos answered MurphyâÂÂs electronic call for help. Eight SEALs and eight Army commandos tin the lead rescue helicopter perished after it was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade and crashed. Three of the original four-man SEAL squad (Danny Dietz, Michael Murphy, and Matt Axelson) were killed in the firefight. A fourth squad member, unnamed because he is still operating, survived. That SEAL was knocked down a mountainside by a blast and wounded in both legs. He walked several miles, and was hidden and protected by an Afghani shepherd until rescued by U.S. commandos on July 3, 2005. DietzâÂÂs remains were found during a combat search and rescue operation on July 4, 2005. He was awarded the Navy Cross, the serviceâÂÂs 2nd highest award, for his valor. Danny Dietz is remembered with the greatest respect and gratitude by his fellow SEALs, the Navy, and our nation. |

I am sad to say that there is a Yahoo 360 user who has stolen the valor of the man above. He has taken GM2 DietzâÂÂs picture and claimed it as himself. He has claimed to be a USN SeAL, despite his complete lack of knowledge of the SeAL program.
The despicable POS doing this has this to say on his blog:
Entry for March 15, 2007
Well, friends come and go, me, I'm thinking about going back in the Seal program to help out in some way. So I'll check every once in a while back, but I will check every now and then. But thats one thing about this net, people come and go, thats life, gotta deal with it. Even when some FREINDS dont let you say hi or just make a silly comment to say hello. Oh well, thats life,,,, later.

Why would someone claim to be a USN SeAL when he clearly has no idea anything about the program? It is very clear that he does so to pick up women. I left a comment on his page that any true SeAL would answer and yes, I do know some real SeALs though I am not one. He completely ignored me and my comment yet pursued his lying ways with women known to me.
He chose the picture of a fallen Hero and claims it to be him. The only truth of which is that the picture is a SeAL. He is not and the picture is not him. He is a liar and preys on the patriotism of women and their adoration of men that he is not and never will be.
When I began investigating this incident, I started with web sites that regularly publish the âÂÂWall of ShameâÂÂ, of people like Kurt who claim to be SeALs but are not. They state they find 300 men claiming such status falsely for every one that is a real SeAL. They find many who are angered when they OUT a phony SeAL.
Some may get angry with me for outing this fake but his own words to my female friends have led to conclusive proof that he is not a SeAL and never was. The fact that he claims a picture of a SeAL Killed in Action is sufficient proof that he is not who he says he is.
Kurt, if you read this blog, realize that the REAL SeALs will forever be watching for the real you. The REAL SeALs will take great displeasure that you have stolen their valor and particularly that you have stolen the valor of one of their highly decorated fallen brothers. The REAL SeALs own the night, look like any other person walking down the street and are very good at sneaking up on people, buildings and animals.
I am not a SeAL but if I were someone that had been outted on such claims as you have made, I would be constantly looking over my shoulder. And realize that they do not give up. They maintain a Wall of Shame for even those that have deceased. I wouldnâÂÂt be surprised if they send out men to etch on gravestones: âÂÂThis coward lied about being a SeAL.âÂÂ
Kurt, it is not me you need fear. You have been exposed for the cowardly thief you are by me, yes, but it is the REAL SeALs that have the right to correct this wrong you have committed.
To my readers, if you come across a poser, the following site takes the above offenses seriously: http://www.authentiseal.org
And from SeAL creed:
âÂÂMy loyalty to Country and Team is beyond reproach. I humbly serve as a guardian to my fellow Americans always ready to defend those who are unable to defend themselves. I do not advertise the nature of my work, nor seek recognition for my actions. I voluntarily accept the inherent hazards of my profession, placing the welfare and security of others before my own.
We demand discipline. We expect innovation. The lives of my teammates and the success of our mission depend on me - my technical skill, tactical proficiency, and attention to detail. My training is never complete.âÂÂ
